10:00 am-5:00 pm | 15/08/2016-09/09/2016
15 August – 9 September 2016 during Glamorgan Archives opening hours.
Young people in Ely and Caerau explored the impact of the First World War on people in Cardiff through research of artwork created in that period. They used primary sources to explore the impact of the First World War on Cardiff residents on the home front. They explored how wartime artists used their art form to communicate key messages. They presented their research to older residents and asked them to share their own family’s stories to explore the impact of the war on local families. The young people then worked with artists to develop their skills and create their own artwork, representing the heritage they had discovered.
Come and see the exhibition created by the participants!
