Join Roger Gilbert and discover more about George Sibbering. George was born in Merthyr Tydfil in 1861. He moved to Cardiff in 1889 and became Chief Engineer for the Taff Vale Railway Company in 1894. He was a member of several societies and professional institutions. He retired to the Isle of Wight in 1927. The talk will cover his life and interests, including his connection to the Barry Railway Company and the Walnut Tree Viaduct.
Roger Gilbert is secretary of Cardiff Philatelic Society and a member of the Royal Philatelic Society London.
The talk will be accompanied by a display of documents from the Glamorgan Archives collection.
